Description

This postcard features a group of men seated and standing on the dock as a steamboat passes by on the Mississippi River in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The men are wearing white or light colored clothing and hats. Dark steam or smoke is seen billowing from the stacks on the steamboat. The title, "Watching the Steamboat" is printed below the right side below the image and "Souvenir of Vicksburg, Miss." is printed in red in the lower right corner of the card. An inscription is written in the white space of the card below the image. [see transcription field] The back of the card is addressed to Miss Elsie K. Reeder in Mount Eagles, Tennessee. The card is postmarked Vicksburg, Mississippi, August 12, 1907 and a red, two cent George Washington postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner.

Aug. 11, 1907 Dear Elsie:= I hope you are having a nice time. Alice and Sue both ae sick in bed but nothing serious. O. C. Klein [sic]
