Description
This color postcard features a bird's eye view of a road and driveways leading to several houses and structures near the river bank. A boat or ship can be seen on the water at the bank. The title along the top identifies the area as "Lower Landing showing transfer Boat Pelican, Vicksburg, Miss." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides the publisher information. The card is inscribed with the history of the Mississippi and Yazoo Rivers.

9/12/12, Vicksburg, Miss.: The Miss. River changed its course in 1876. It cut a new channel and left the city on one side. The people cut a canal and diverted the Yazoo River in the old Miss. River bed
