Description
This black and white postcard features a bird's eye view of a large cemetery with lines of small white tombstones interspersed with trees and walking paths. The title along the bottom of the card reads "Overlooking National Cemetery from Spanish Fort, Vicksburg, Miss." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides indication for correspondence and address placement. A green one cent postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner and the card is postmarked Vicksburg, Mississippi, February 9, 1914. The card is inscribed and is addressed to Mrs. Odrane Fritz in Memphis, Tennessee.

Feb. 9th 14 Dear Sam and Als Arrived in Vicksburg all O. K.--Cold is much worse. However I can work: Am sending you the first of a set of views of National Park where Southern and Northern soldiers lay together. Kiss the boys and write to Carroll Hotele. E. W. D.
