Description
This color postcard features three women in red and white waitress uniforms standing among a restaurant dining room. The tables in the dining room are set with white table cloths. The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides publisher information. A blue five cent postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner and the card is postmarked Vicksburg, Mississippi, December 1, 1966. The description in the upper left reads "The Old Southern Tea Room, 1201 Monroe Street, Vicksburg, Mississippi 'Deep South Cooking at Its Best.' This quaint Tea Room, in the heart of the "Deep South," carries on the tradition of delicious Southern Cooking and gracious hospitality. With its colored waitresses, in bright "Mammy" costumes, serving steaming Shrimp Gumbo, crisp Fried Chicken and Hot Biscuits, it is a Mecca for travelers wanting old-fashioned Southern cooking served in an atmosphere of picturesque charm. 1 block west and 1 block north, intersection Hi-way 80 and 61. Recommended by Duncan Hines' Adventures in Good Eating, Gourmet's Guide and AAA. Color Photo by Woody Ogden." The card is inscribed and is addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Glasgow in Edmond, Oklahoma.
