Description

A photograph of a small group of Black/African Americans gathers around some barrels on the dock is featured on this postcard. A woman wearing a hat and carrying a long coat over the crook of her arm has a suitcase at her feat. A man in a bowler hat is seated on one of the barrels with his arms crossed over his midsection. Wooden poles are in front of the people. A long pier is to the left of the people and a building with barrels in front of it is to the right of the people and a man is pictured walking away from it. A short paragraph about the photo is written on the back of the card.

How is this for a southern scene. The lady leaning against the barrel was smoking a cigar. We took it from the boat at a little town where we stopped.
