Description

This color postcard features a grey naval ship out on open water. The title along the top of the card reads "One of the Latest Type U. S. Scout Cruisers." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides publisher information as well as indication for address and postage stamp placement. The logo for the publisher is in the top center of the card. The description on the left side of the card reads "217729--One of the Latest Type U. S. Scout Cruisers. Displacement about 4700 tones; speed, 26 1/2 knots; 16,000 H. P. Length, 423 feet; beam, 47 ft.; draught, 19 1/4 ft. Crew of 373 men. carries two 5 in. guns, six 3 in. guns and two smaller guns, with two 21 in. torpedo tubes. Armor belt, 2--1 in. Completed, 1908. Cost, $1,625,000 without armament.
