This handwritten memoir details George A. Ellsworth's skilled use of telegraphy during the Civil War to assist in Confederate Brigadier General John Hunt Morgan's campaigns, Ellsworth's other intelligence-gathering activies, and Ellsworth's espianoge efforts in the North in effort to raise a rebellion there. The memoir is written on delicate onion skin paper which shows visible tears, creases, and stains. This copy of the memoir begins at page three and is numbered up to page 157.
