Description
In this letter, dated April 1, 1947, William D. McCain, director of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, writes to Eunice J. Stockwell in response to her question about the availability of the Mississippi Census records. He goes on to ask her if she knows of the "Jayne" papers owned by Mrs. John Watson. Hand written notes are on the margin of the letter and a typed draft of Stockwell's response to McCain is on the back of the letter. The letter is written on Department of Archives and History, State of Mississippi letterhead.
