Description

In this letter, Peter A. Brannon, Director of the Alabama Department of Archives and History, writes to Myrtis S. Wineman in response to her inquiries regarding Indian St. Stephens papers and passports to travel in Indian Country. Brannon responds with an explanation of what travel passes were and how they were obtained. He goes on to direct her to the Mississippi Department of Archives and history and tells her what to ask for. The letter is typed on State of Alabama Department of Archives and History letterhead. Wineman's notes are written across the top edge and beneath the date of the letter.
