Description

In this letter, dated April 28, 1915, John W. Richardson, the Register of the Land Office for the Commonwealth of Virginia, writes to Eunice J. Stockwell in response to her inquiry for land certificates for William Williams. He provides her with the acreage associated with four Land Bounty Certificates and advises her that they do no specify where Williams was from or any other information other than that he served as a soldier in the Revolutionary War. He goes on to advise her the cost of copies of the certificates. "Per D. M. Patterson, Clerk" is written to the left, below Richardson's signature. The letter is typed on Commonwealth of Virginia Land Office letterhead and includes an illustration of the seal of Virginia in the upper left corner.
