Description
In this letter, dated August 19, 1947, Eunice J. Stockwell writes to Oscar Johnston in reply to his request for information on the Mulberry and Sycamore Plantations on behalf of Brodie Crump who was researching for Mary Mears Galt. She provides him with the names of the current owners and lets him know that she was unable to secure any information about the burial ground. She goes on to discuss the typical conditions most plantations faced during the Civil War and addresses some of Galt's assumptions on the burial grounds and the importation of coolie labor.
