Transcript
26 July 1944
Dear Myrt and Glynn,
I'm sorry about not answering your letter before this, But I just couldn't. Have been away on a secret mission and so I just couldn't write to no one. Might have to go on Mother me soon. Don't [?] much for it as the time isn't my own. There is a rumor going around about them going to give us furloughs. So if I do I might be home for Labor day. I'm not sure but I ? it's the truth. So don't sell all the booze. But save some for me. Its too high out there and my money doesn't last long if I have to pay $1400 a qt.
