MSS. 69. 0.08 cubic feet. Typed manuscript entitled Company "G", 22nd Mississippi Infantry by Alice Hirsh. Photocopies of letters exchanged in 1953 by Dr. J. K. Bettersworth and Miss Hirsh. The manuscript gives the account of Isaac Hirsh, a German youth, who immigrated to U.S. in 1851, located in Sidon, Mississippi, volunteered for duty in Black Hawk Rifles, and served 4 years in Confederate Army. It also tells of elections in Carroll County, Mississippi, during Reconstruction, gives information regarding floods and levees, and gives much local history on Carroll County and Sidon.
