Description

Harrison County Girls' Club exhibit shown at Gulfport City Hall, 1914; Exhibit won first place at county fair in Wiggins and first place at state fair in Jackson, in 1914, in competition with 33 other counties; First place prize was $100; Ms. May Quarles awarded $50 as best agent and an inscribed medal; Was also part of the exhibit on the ""Grown in Mississippi Special Train"" to the San Francisco - Panama - Pacific International Exposition in July, 1915. Ms. Quarles chosen as Harrison County sponsor by popular vote
