Description
In this newspaper article, Mississippi State sought to incorporate Jackson State University and Mississippi Valley State College into the MSU system. This would nominally bring MSU's white and Black demographics into alignment with the state's demographic makeup. In this way, the university could maintain Federal funds without following the spirit of the Civil Rights Act.
