Abstract
The concept of the keyword has emerged across a wide variety of disciplines. This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book frames the critical terms precisely by their disciplinary orientation, and the fact that they have escaped literary theory to become the subject of a Newsweek article or a pop band demonstrates the need to clarify their meaning. It picks up the thread on the activity of mapping that Ryan invokes. The book draws our attention to the way the data that organizes digital spaces of commemoration are always a political act that structures a narrative around spaces in a particular way.
