Abstract
A literature review was conducted on the use of video-enhanced activity schedules for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Systematic searches of electronic databases and reference lists identified 15 studies meeting the inclusion criteria. This study also evaluated the methodological quality and rigor of the included studies. The results demonstrated that video-enhanced activity schedules could be used along with other intervention methods to improve multiple skills or behaviors for a variety of age groups of individuals with ASD across different settings and activities. Among the reviewed studies, 53% of studies were rated as high quality, and 47% of studies were rated as adequate quality. In addition, it is promising to conclude that a video-enhanced activity schedule is a method with good generalization and maintenance effects and social validity. Limitations and suggestions for future research are discussed.
