About This Journal
Emancipations is an open access journal of critical social analysis, featuring peer-reviewed scholarly research articles, as well as shorter commentaries and book reviews that are edited by one or both of the two editors-in-chief. Emancipations recognizes that, just as oppression takes many forms, so too do their modes of overcoming. Given this, we are not committed to any one political or theoretical tradition, and will publish any work that critically analyzes capitalism, broadly construed, and that meets the journal's standards for publication. We do not charge authors publishing fees and our open access format make this scholarship freely available to readers -- whether academics or otherwise -- throughout the world.
