Description

The medal's obverse design depicts a bust image of General Ambrose Burnside. To the left of his image, a group of soldiers are shown with weapons raised in battle. On the reverse, Confederate and United States flags are pictured intersecting at the top of the medal. Several rifles appear behind the flags, and the image of an eagle is placed at the center of the intersection. At the medal's bottom, a decorative border lines the edge.
