Description
The medal's obverse design depicts a bust portrait of James Kent, an American jurist and legal scholar who authored Commentaries on American Law. The reverse design features an image of the Scales of Justice with a book placed at its center. An image of the Earth floats overhead, and two buildings stand on either side. A boat floats on a body of water at the scene's base.
