Proclamation of the President of the United States
U.S. Christian Commission
This manifestation of the Emancipation Proclamation features the Proclamation's title at the top of the broadside in a decorative script. Its textual body appears beneath the title in two columns, and the title and text are surrounded by a decorative scroll border. The broadside was released by the U.S. Christian Commission, an organization founded at the start of the Civil War to address the spiritual needs of soldiers. The organization disbanded in 1866.

The lithographic work is a mourning broadside that was produced in memory of Abraham Lincoln. The broadside features a bust portrait of Lincoln from the shoulders up and is surrounded by a thick black border. A vellum-like sheet of paper is adhered to the broadside's back.

New Year's Address of the Carriers of the Providence Evening Press. 1861.
The broadside is a newspaper carriers' address from 1861, which includes a two-column poem that is surrounded by a decorative border. In the poem, the carriers summarize the news of the year in verse. During the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, carriers' addresses were commonplace. On the first of each year, newspaper carriers would deliver these addresses, usually printed on a single sheet, to their customers in hopes of receiving a tip in return.

Un Ballo in Maschera Playbill
The playbill is for a 20 February 1861 Academy of Music performance of Un Ballo in Maschera that Abraham Lincoln attended. Lincoln arrived at the opera late - after the first act - but was greeted with cheers from the audience and a performance of the Star-Spangled Banner from the company. The playbill, while damaged at the upper left corner, notes Lincoln's attendance as well as the planned performance of the national anthem. What remains of the playbill has been pieced together and adhered to what appears to be a sheet of laid paper.

The object is an unused book jacket for The Lincoln Assassination Riddle, edited by Frank J. Williams and Michael Burkhimer. The predominant colors are maroon, cream, yellow, red, and black. The front panel features an image of John Wilkes Booth with Satan standing at his shoulder (Satan Tempting Booth to the Murder of the President by John L. Magee). The book's title and editors are also on the front panel. The front flap features information regarding the book's contents. The back panel contains various reviews and publication information, while the back flap contains editor, publisher, and front cover information. The spine contains the title and editors' last names. A duplicate copy is also included in the collection as well as documentary information.
