Description

This black and white illustration is of Hannibal Hamlin, first Republican vice president of the United States who served under President Abraham Lincoln from 1861 to 1865. Hamlin is depicted as wearing a dark suit and tie with a white shirt. "CAP" is written just below his left lapel. The illustration is within a thin frame and Hamlin's name is captioned beneath. The illustration is within volume three of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
