This black and white photograph is of an unidentified Civil War officers pictured wearing a long, double breasted military uniform with shoulder boards on either shoulder. He is seated his right elbow resting on the side of the chair and his left hand resting on his thigh. The photograph was found tipped into volume four of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
