This black and white illustration is of Braxton Bragg, a Confederate army officer who served as a general in the Confederate Army during the American Civil War, serving in the Western Theater. Bragg is depicted as wearing a dark, double-breasted military uniform with a high collar lined with stars. The background of the illustration is shaded. The artist is listed along the very bottom edge of the illustration and Bragg's signature is depicted below the illustration. This illustration is in volume six of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
