Description
This black and white illustration depicts men in military uniform, several on horseback and several on foot, wielding guns, flags, and swords among rolling hills. A scene in the forefront of the illustration depicts deceased men and a deceased horse near a tree and wagon wheel. The illustrator is listed beneath the illustration and the caption, "Battle of Chancellorsville. Gen. Sickles' Division Covering the Retreat" is captioned at the bottom of the page. This is illustration is in volume seven, of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
