This black and white illustration is of B. F. (Benjamin Franklin "Bluff" ) Wade, a senator from Ohio. Wade is depicted wearing a black suit, vest, and bowtie with a white shirt. The background of the illustration is shaded and the illustration is within an oval. "Engraved by Samuel Sartain Philad" is along the bottom edge beneath the illustration. Wade's signature is depicted at the bottom of the page. The illustration is within volume two of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
