This black and white photograph is of an unidentified man who is seated and wearing a dark suit, vest, and tie with a white shirt. A pocket watch chain is attached to his vest. His facial hair is in the muttonchop style. The photograph is a CDV (carte de visite) that was found tipped into pages 4-5 of volume seven, of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
