Description
This black and white illustration is a map of Cold Harbor marking both the Union works and the Confederate works during the Battle of Cold Harbor. The map was taken from surveys under the direction of N. Mitchier, Major of Engineers and P. S. Michie, Captain of Engineers in 1867. Text about the Battle of Cold Harbor is below the map. The Battle of Cold Harbor was fought during the American Civil War near Mechanicsville, Virginia, from May 31 to June 12, 1864. The illustration is on pages 402-403 of volume eight of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
