Description
This black and white illustration is of General Simon B. Buckner, an American soldier, who fought in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. Buckner is depicted seated and cradling a sword across his lap while wearing a dark, double-breasted military uniform with shoulder boards, collar tabs and a belt. His name is captioned beneath the illustration. The illustration is from volume eight of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
