Description
This black and white illustration is an exterior view of Fords Theater, the site of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln on the night of April 14, 1865. The theater is depicted from a street view as a three story building with a pitched roof. A sidewalk with people in period clothing is depicted in front of the theater. "Fords Theater" is written in script beneath the illustration. The illustration is from volume nine of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
