Description
This black and white illustration depicts the Lincoln Monument at Springfield. The monument is a tall spherical brick structure with stairs at the base. Statues of soldiers and Abraham Lincoln are along the second level. The name of the monument is captioned beneath the illustration and text from chapter sixteen is on the bottom half of the page. The illustration is on page 324 from volume nine of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
