Justice Frank J. and Virginia Williams

Description

This black and white photograph is of Ward Hill Lamon. Lamon is shown wearing what appears to be a dark military uniform with a white stripe on the seam along the pants' leg, white cuffs, and shoulder boards. He is seated with one leg crossed over the other and his hands elbows resting on the arms of the chair. The photograph appears to have a crackled affect over the image. A typed caption along the right edge reads "Early photo of Ward Hill Lamon the law partner and body guard of Abraham Lincoln *1850 to 1865. This was about when he first went to Washington, as body guard to Lincoln."
