Description

A pamphlet consisting of the "Argument of John A. Bingham, Special Judge Advocate, in Reply to the Arguments of the Several Counsel ... Charged with Conspiracy and the Murder of Abraham Lincoln, Late President of the United States". The cover of the pamphlet consists of the title, a short summary and outline of the defendants, the date and place at which this argument was delivered, and the publishing date and location. A photo of Abraham Lincoln with banners above and below him reading "EX LIBRIS" and "C. E. SIMMONS" is on the inside of the cover. "Delivered June 27 and 28, 1865, before the Military Commission, Washington, D.C."
