On cover: Souvenir of the war that saved the Union, 1861 to 1865. Concerns a mascot eagle of Company C, 8th wisconsin Regiment, named Abe (or Old Abe) after President Lincoln, present at twenty-five Civil War battles, later extensively exhibited.
