Description
This pamphlet contains the transcript of Stephen A. Douglas opening debate speech followed by Abraham Lincoln's reply during the first debate of Lincoln's bid for Illinois Senate in which Douglas was the incumbent. Lincoln's Farewell address at Springfield, Ill., as he was leaving for Washington, Feb. 11, 1861 appears at the end of the pamphlet followed by a brief history of Douglas and Lincoln's debate interactions.
