Description

Speaking with Congressman Gene Taylor of Mississippi?╟╓s Fifth District. 1- Let?╟╓s start out the show today by talking about the Defense Bill. The Defense Authorization Bill that passed through the House was good for many of the military bases in Mississippi. Now that it is in conference, how do you think it will affect Camp Shelby, Keesler Air Force Base, and other military units in Mississippi?; 2- Back in the beginning, both you and I opposed ground troops being deployed to Bosnia. After the last deployment of troops to Germany, I am no longer positive that we will be out of Bosnia by the end of the year. What do you think?; 3- A number of veterans?╟╓ health issues have been raised this year. Didn?╟╓t you sponsor an amendment to ensure that military retirees received their medical benefits?; 4- Both you and I are strong supporters of the Campaign Finance Reform Bill, but we voted against the recent Campaign Finance Reform Bill. I felt that it would increase the costs of campaigns and create more problems. What changes do you feel were needed to make this a real reform act?
