Description

1- You met with a delegation form the Columbus 2000 Task Force last week. The group is working to keep Columbus Air Force Base off future base closures lists. What happened at the meeting?; 2It appear the house will soon vote on the balance budget amendment to the Constitution. What are the prospects for getting the two-thirds majority needed for passage?; 3- Some opponents say an amendment to the Constitution would force drastic economic measures to be undertaken to balance the budget. The bill?╟╓s sponsors say that the amendment won?╟╓t take effect for a couple of years and we can start now to bring spending in line. They also argue that without this enforcement tool, Congress will not act to balance the budget.;
