Description
Report of the commissioners assigned to divide the estate of Joseph Bowman, deceased, into three lots. Lots 1 and 2 include 12 enslaved persons each, while Lot 3 includes 14 enslaved persons. Lot 1, drawn for Robert H. Bowman, encompasses George a man, Bob an old man, Nathan a man, Louisa a girl, Hutchins a boy, Stephen a boy, Henry a boy, Nanny an old woman, Hetty a woman, Dick a boy, Venus a woman and Richmond a boy. Lot 2, drawn for Eliza Woods, encompasses Billy a man, Zek or Ezekial a man, Anthony a man, Sarah a woman, Mariah a girl, Nelly a woman, Alfred a child, Martha a child, Isaac a boy, Aaron a boy and Peggy a woman. Lot 3, drawn for Mary Caroline Bowman, encompasses Joe a man, Abram a man, Elisha a boy, Jude a woman, Sinah + Eve a woman and child, Nelson a boy, Jerry a boy, Jack an old man, Harry an old man, Eben a man, Tarlton a boy, Moses a boy, and Alex a boy.
