Description
Petition concerning the appropriation of the property of Mary C. Bowman, by David Wood, who had married Eliza C. Bowman, guardian of Mary C. Bowman. The property listed includes fourteen enslaved persons: Joe, Abraham, Elisha, Jude, Sinah, Eve, Nelson, Jerry, Jack, Harry, Eben, Tarlton, Moses and Elliot. The petition alleges Wood is believed to be insolvent and is planning to remove the property outside the jurisdiction of the court.
