Description
Record of a debt involving the sale of an enslaved man named Pachile
Transcription
On the sixth day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and ten I Thomas A. Claiborne received of a certain Christopher Adams a Bill of Sale dated the day and year aforesaid for a negro man slave named Paschile aged twenty four years or there about. Now it is considered and agreed to by me the said Thomas A. Claiborne & I hereby bind myself my heirs executory and (administratively?) to carry this my agreement into effect or cause it to be done: that if the said Christopher Adams will and truly pray or procure to be paid to save the full sum of five hundred and twenty three dollars lawfull money of the United States on or before the first day of October eighteen hundred and eleven, which said sum offered hundred and twenty three is justly due to me the said Thomas A Claiborne from the estate of the late Leonard Claiborne deceased Then and in that case the aforesaid bill of sale shall become completely null & void. otherwise to remain at its full force rabidity (?) in law.
