Description

This handwritten letter, dated September 7, 1943, is written by Rollin S. Armstrong from where he is stationed in North Africa, to his wife, Rebecca Armstrong, in Tupelo, Mississippi. The letter discusses his decision to send her a rug and how he hopes it will be treasured piece in their future home. He goes on to discusses the correspondence he's received and he offers encouragement and advice on the impending birth of their baby. The letter is written on United States Army stationary with the eagle and shield logo in the top center. The envelope is postmarked U. S. Army A. P. O, October 9, 1943 and bears a "Passed by Base Army Examiner" stamp in the lower left.
