Description

This handwritten letter, dated July 8, 1943, is written by Rollin S. Armstrong at Camp Gruber, Oklahoma, where he is stationed, to his wife, Rebecca Armstrong, in Tupelo, Mississippi. The letter describes his activities and discusses how other battalions at the base have gone for training in Louisiana. The letter goes on to discuss the possibility of his battalion being sent overseas and his feelings on that. The letter concludes with news of his friends on base and he reminds her how much he loves and misses her. The letter is written on Camp Gruber, Oklahoma stationary with the Army's eagle logo in the top center. The envelope is postmarked Camp Gruber, Oklahoma, July 8, 1943.
