Description
This handwritten letter, dated July 20, 1943, is written from W. N. (William Neill) Bogan, Jr., a the Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, to his mother, Catherine F. Bogan in West Point, Mississippi. The letter describes his disappointment in the Citadel as the barracks are not as nice as he expected but goes on to describe the other buildings and areas that are better than the barracks. The letter goes on to describe his routine there and some of the people he's met. The envelope is postmarked Charleston, South Carolina, July 20, 1943 and "Free" is handwritten in the area typically reserved for the postage stamp.
