Description
This handwritten letter, dated July 25, 1943, is written by W. N. (William Neill) Bogan, Jr. at the Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina to his mother, Catherine F. Bogan in West Point, Mississippi. The letter describes his trip to town, his trip to "Coney Island", his trip to church, and everything he did after. The letter goes on to inform her that he and several boys he knows are being moved to Washington and Lee at Lexington, Virginia. The envelope is postmarked Charleston, South Carolina, July 26, 1943 and "Free" is handwritten in the space typically reserved for the postage stamp.
