Description
This handwritten letter, dated January 7, 1944, is written from W. N. (William Neill) Bogan, Jr. at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia to his sister, Kay Bogan, in West Point, Mississippi. The letter apologizes for the delay in responding to her letters and encourages her to keep whatever plans she's already made during his upcoming furlough and visit home. The letter goes on to assure her that he loved the gifts he received for Christmas and how proud he is that she is serving as a hostess at the Service Club. The letter is signed Happy New Year and lots of love, Son." The envelope is postmarked Lexington, Virginia, January 8, 1944 and a red six cent air mail postage stamp is in the upper right corner.
