Description
This handwritten letter, dated February 4, 1945, is written from W. N. (William Neill) Bogan, Jr. where he is stationed in France, to his parents, W. N., Sr. and Catherine F. Bogan, in West Point. The letter describes how monotonous life at camp is and shares a cooking fail he and the other men had while trying to cook beans. The letter goes on to describe what the town is like and how some of the fellows have taken things from the abandoned homes. The letter is signed "Devotedly, Buddy." The air mail envelope is postmarked U.S. Army Postal Service, February 18, 1945 and includes a red six cent air mail postage stamp in the upper right corner. An army examiner ink stamp is in the lower left corner and a signature is beneath it.
