Description

This handwritten letter, dated March 17, 1945, is written from W. N. (William Neill) Bogan, Jr. where he is stationed in France to his parents, W. N., Sr. and Catherine F. Bogan, in West Point, Mississippi. The letter describes his new stationary as having been "captured from them and now it's being issued to us." The letter goes on to discuss the correspondence he's received and news from home, as well as, confessing that he has taken to smoking a pipe. The letter is signed "Devotedly, Son." The air mail envelope is postmarked U. S. Army Postal Service, March 20, 1945 and a red six cent air mail postage stamp is in the upper right. An army examiner ink stamp is in the lower left with a signature beneath it.
