Description
This handwritten, dated May 8, 1945, is written from W. N. (William Neill) Bogan, Jr. where he is stationed in Germany to his mother, Catherine F. Bogan, in West Point, Mississippi. The letter sends her love for Mother's Day. He goes on to say "Peace came to this part of the world after nearly six years yesterday" and comments on how the "big news of last week made it seem anticlimactic." The letter is signed "Love you, Buddy." The War and Navy Departments V--Mail Service envelope is postmarked U. S. Postal Service No. 3, May 15, 1945.
