Description

This handwritten letter, dated July 22, 1945, is written from W. N. (William Neill) Bogan, Jr. where he is stationed in Germany to his parents, W. N., Sr. and Catherine F. Bogan, in West Point, Mississippi. The letter speculates that he and his battalion will be sent to the Pacific, contrary to his parents hope that he will remain in Germany. The letter goes on to describe the work he's currently doing as well as the recreational activities. The letter is signed "Devotedly, Buddy." The air mail envelope is postmarked U. S. Army Postal Service A. P. O. and includes a red six cent air mail postage stamp in the upper right.
