Description
This handwritten letter, dated May 5, 1943, is written from W. N. Bogan Jr. at Camp Shelby in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to his father in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The letter describes the work he's been doing and everyone's impatience at wanting to be stationed somewhere and start basic training. The letter is written on Camp Shelby Mississippi stationary with a purple eagle emblem in the top center. The envelope is postmarked Camp Shelby, Mississippi, May 5, 1943 and "Free" is handwritten in the space typically reserved for the postage stamp.
